With the advent of Web 3.0, there have been some innovations. People are exploring various aspects like Blockchain and NFT range. Meta and Apple, on the other hand, are working on exploring AR / AR capabilities. New ideas are put forward almost daily, like DeSoc with the new SoulBound Token. Then we have GameFi, which seems to be an important breakthrough into the Web 3.0 world. Yet one thing is common in all of these. That’s the term ‘Metaverse.’
While we are exploring so many new concepts, it raises the question of working. Could we be working on Metaverse? Let’s explore that idea a little:
Let’s start by clearing out the concept of Metaverse. Regardless of what people might call it, we could all agree that it’s all about creating or repeating life in the digital world. This is a virtual life where people can socialize. Physical distance should not be a factor. There will be more freedom for people to choose where they go, what they do and be creative and expressive.
Almost every Metaverse project incorporates to some extent the concept of virtual life in the project. For example, Dogami is all about owning and raising virtual dogs. StepN is about running in real life but achieving digital currency. At the same time, NFTs are all about owning digital collectibles. So, Metaverse is about bridging the gap between reality and the digital universe.
Therefore, it should not be too out of the question to think about work items or create a professional sector in Metaverse.
Play to earn and other incentives
Take a look at what we already have. Play-to-earn is Metaverse’s leading motivator. Many other projects are working on motivations such as Read-To-Earn, Listen-To-Earn, View-To-Earn, Run-To-Earn, and so on. So we could say that Metaverse is all about giving people motivation.
Investing in NFT, virtual countries and cryptocurrencies, among other symbols, has also become a leading source of revenue. People are also more involved in business than bankruptcy. It’s all a question of whether there will ever be a need to work with the introduction of Metaverse if we have so many incentives.
We all know that in the real world, with the advent of Metaverse, we need more qualified professionals. But what about ‘in Metaverse?’ Well, let’s take Dogami again, for example. The NFT project works to include professions for dogs and people. You could become a dog trainer, breeder and more.
Many other games will also focus on creating a profession that will motivate people with real monetary benefits. Therefore, there is another possibility that jobs will change and become dominant in Metaverse.
The experiment with VR / AR
Recent research has been conducted regarding the use of VR / AR headphones at work. They showed that productivity is declining as people face some setbacks. It ranged from motion sickness to nausea. But we can not connect it in the Metaverse or Web 3.0 era.
This is just something that people are not used to yet. Cases of nausea, motion sickness or even headaches are commonly associated with long-term use of VR / AR technology. So, experiments are not a strong foundation to ignore working in metaverse.
In the meantime, we’re looking at more things that will be incorporated into Metaverse.
Education and other opportunities
It is an Indian start-up company that is working on creating an education portal in Metaverse. Meta, on the other hand, is also launching the Metaverse Academy to create a new generation of Metaverse professionals. All of this suggests that we will be witnessing incredible growth in Web 3.0 and the industry.
In fact, the work in Metaverse could not be limited to the laws of the real world. This applies to the laws of physics and other possibilities. An individual in some fantasy game could be making a lot of money by being a shady trader. On the other hand, we might be looking at people who train others or helped them with Metaverse.
There are so many possibilities. We are sure to get many new digital professions to become a thing in the near future.
Let’s not forget that digital concerts are also becoming something tangible. If celebrities and influencers are going to appear in the digital world or Metaverse, why not move there?
Metaverse is a new world and a new opportunity. People could choose to work there or be one of the first investors in NFT and other projects. We are looking at developments similar to the real world in Metaverse.
There are those who invest and trade and then there are those who work. The bottom line is that we will be working on Metaverse in one way or another. It’s just a matter of time.
