Meta launches a new digital center, Crayta

Meta launches new digital hub, Crayta – NFT News Today – Mail Bonus

While the world is busy exploring the possibilities of Web 3.0 and blockchain technology, Meta is creating its own universe. The parent company Facebook has opened a new portal, Crayta, which works with Facebook.

Previously, Facebook has launched various versions such as Stadia and Facebook Gaming. With the acquisition of Unit 2, Meta has launched Crayta, which aims to bring 2D into the Web 3.0 interface.

What’s the point of Crayta?

According to Mark Zuckerberg himself, Web 3.0 places great emphasis on a 3D experience with VR and AR technology. There are too many NFT projects and blockchain integrations that also focus on Play2Earn episodes. While this is admirable, they are forgetting to have fun or watch the social aspects of Web 3.0.

Crayta is not just a Web 3.0 tool. It is also a Web 2 platform. However, the goal behind Crayta is to show that you can improve so much in the Web 3.0 world without relying on AR / Vr.

  • Crayta eliminates the need to download or install any games. Just like how Facebook games worked before.
  • Users can quickly create a game or create links to share with friends so they can participate.
  • Crayta has been compared to Roblox for ‘build-your-own’ games and other elements.
  • Crayta has also made comparisons with Fortnite for colorful and eccentric imagery, design and more.

Cloud Computing – The technology behind Crayta

It is interesting to note that Meta has not worked on a blockchain, or created its own blockchain. Instead, Crayta works on Facebook Cloud Computing capabilities. We will all be vague after Cloud Gaming became the next big thing around 2018-2020. However, the next decade brought us blockchain gaming. We almost forgot about Cloud Gaming as they became “regular” with the next generation of gaming consoles like PS5 and Xbox.

Still, Facebook is still working on it. Their Cloud Gaming efforts allow users to create any game and get it hosted instantly on the Facebook server without worrying about anything.

Great resource for designers

Apart from the ease and flexibility of cloud playback, Crayta also includes a wide range of pre-designed visuals and graphics. You can even create a small game, or an entire game, using the library, which has everything. You can create 2D or 3D graphics game conveniently, without any problems.

Whether you are looking to build something new and original, or something inspired by other projects, you will have access to tools and resources.

Unreal Engine 4 – The backbone of Crayta

There is already Unreal Engine 5 that many AAA game companies and developers use for the next level of experience. Still, Unreal Engine 4 is easy on cloud computing. It is also a fairly versatile and user-friendly option.

Crayta is powered by and uses Unreal Engine 4. The most commendable achievement is still eliminating the need to download or install the game. You could just load it into your browser and start playing it. The platform is also not a comprehensive system.

Of course, for the best graphical performance and experience, you need a system that is worth it, but still it is still convenient for most people.

Crayta is not an NFT game

Metaverse is a concept that has been around for a long time, even before Facebook changed its name to Meta. Why is this point relevant? Just to demonstrate that Meta is trying to be a central part of Web 3.0 and Metaverse infrastructure.

However, Crayta is not an NFT game. There are no tokens, cryptocurrencies or collectibles available for Crayta users to transfer or import / export anywhere.

Crayta does not use blockchain technology. It also does not offer any Play2Earn plugins. You could monetize the game, but it has a different strategy and more that users can read and understand.

Many people have considered it for some kind of NFT game or platform, from Facebook, in Metaverse. But that’s what it’s about. If anything, Crayta is just a game portal from Meta. It allows you to develop games or play those that are already available.

The result – is Crayta all that great?

Crayta is just a way for Meta (formerly Facebook) to say: “We now have a gaming website. There is no longer a need to create games or post them on Facebook anymore. With the power of Unreal Engine 4 and a cloud computing, Crayta is an ambitious approach and something that people may admire.

However, it is a bit disappointing to see that Meta had not decided to launch its own blockchain gaming platform or anything else in general. Many around the world responded positively to the platform, while others were disappointed.

Crayta must stand the test of time, and promote NFT games, in order to stay current. Still, “Roblox-meets-Fortnite” has a pretty nice ring.
